The Assistant (ረዳት)

The Assistant answers your questions about Hibret and your church, in your language, and can do some things for you. It changes nothing until you press "Yes, do it".

  1. 1

Press "Assistant" (in Amharic "ረዳት"). In the app it is at the top of Home and in My profile; on the web it is the round button at the bottom right of every page.

The Assistant opens with a few questions you can tap, for the page you are on.

  2. 2

Write your question in your own language (Amharic, English, Afaan Oromoo or Tigrinya), or tap a suggestion. For example: "When is the next event?" or "Add my prayer request".

It answers short and plain, in the language you wrote in, and shows 2 or 3 next questions you can tap.

  3. 3

When you ask it to do something (answer an event, join a group, add or renew your prayer request, ask for help in ሸክም, change your notifications or your language), it shows a card with what will change. Check it, then press "Yes, do it" or "No".

Only "Yes, do it" changes something, and only once. A card can be used for one hour.

  4. 4

It cannot answer? It offers to ask a person. Questions about your church go to your church's leaders first; questions about the app go to Hibret. You see the card first.

The answer comes by email and under "Answers" in the Assistant.

  5. 5

Church staff can also ask it to write and post news, create an event, start this week's bulletin as a draft, invite new members, or show who has not checked in today. Each one is a card first.

The Assistant only sees what you may see on your own screens. It never shows other members' private prayer requests, ሸክም details or messages. For questions of faith or a personal need, please talk to your pastor or church leaders.
